My friend Thomas Murray (15 years old) was recently diagnosed with brain cancer this September. For those of you who know him he is an extraordinary young man. He is caring, loving, unbelievably strong, and has so much more to do with his life.
He recently underwent surgery on September 17th to remove a tumor (Ependymoma) that has been causing him several symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, vision problems, and headaches. The surgery was a success, but unfortunately, after further testing the tumor was found to be cancerous. As a result, Thomas will have to undergo 6 weeks of radiation and 4 cycles of chemotherapy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
This sudden diagnosis is devastating for such a young man and leaves his family and friends completely unprepared. Mother, Kristen Kalas, father, Jason Murray, and uncle, Benjamin O’Brien will be needing a little extra assistance during this time to cover medical expenses, travel expenses (travel from Alexandria, MN to Rochester, MN (3.5 hours)), and life’s necessities to be able to be with Thomas during this time as much as they can.
Thomas is a very deserving young man who is not done living his life. He has many interests such as hunting, gaming, studying paleontology, gardening, and spending time with his friend TJ and uncle, Benjamin O’Brien.
Now, it is time to send some love and support to Thomas and his family. Anything that you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated and if for some reason there is a surplus, the remaining balance will be donated to a charity of Thomas’s choosing.
