My name is Bethany and I am trying to help raise money to help with the cost of my moms treatments to make the most of her life here.
My sweet mother’s name is Jan and she has been battling cancer for 5 years. For those of you that know her, know she has a heart of gold.
During her 5 year battle, the wonderful people at Moffitt Cancer Center have provided financial assistance with extremely high costs of traditional cancer treatments like radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy (and she has had them all).
After 5 years of chemotherapy treatments, with the full support of our family, has made the difficult decision to withdraw from chemotherapy treatments and begin a more holistic approach towards healing. The side effects from the treatments are simply crippling. She has chosen to maximize her time here by discontinuing the harsh chemotherapy treatments.
After the most recent CT scan we found that the cancer cells had grown slightly, doctors advised that her chemotherapy dosage would need to increase significantly. Increased dosage means increased side effects. Since discontinuing chemotherapy, she has begun Vitamin C therapy which seems to have an improved cure rate over the chemotherapy with very few side effects. However, this form of treatment is not covered by insurance and costs between $150.00 - $300.00 per week, depending on the frequency of her visits. My mother has insurance but these treatments are not covered.
My mom is the strongest woman I know and has sacrificed to help countless people in their time of need. Unfortunately, now is her time of need. Please help me raise the funds necessary to cover the high costs of her treatments which will allow her a legitimate chance to heal and significantly improve the quality of the rest of her life.
