One moment Changed Everything

Hi everyone,

I am Mariyah's mom and It’s not easy for me to do this , I’ve always been private about my life. But I heard God speak to my heart: “You need community.” And so here I am, asking for help.

On the night of April 16th, at about 9:54 p.m., my 26-year-old daughter full of life and dreams was hit by a car while crossing Bruce B. Downs Blvd. in Tampa Florida.

She suffered a traumatic head injury and had to undergo emergency brain surgery (a craniotomy), along with fractures throughout her body and face. She’s been fighting for her life in the ICU ever since. Some days we see hope, some days we hold our breath. There are no guarantees just a long, painful road ahead.

She’s not just my daughter, she’s a mother herself. Her little girl needs her. We need her. Her family, her true friends, everyone who knows the light she carries. We are all praying, standing, and believing for a miracle.

We don’t know how long this journey will be. Medical bills, therapies, long-term care they are piling up faster than we will be able to manage. Every bit of support, no matter how small, helps lift a burden off our shoulders and helps us focus on what matters most: her healing.
