On December 30th, Mike and Meghan’s world turned upside down.
Their baby girl, Eleanor, had been experiencing some cold symptoms. Mike and Meghan had been back and forth to the pediatrician with their concerns and were told Ellie had an ear infection. Then on December 30th, Ellie experienced trouble crawling and walking, and Mike and Meghan immediately headed to the ER. From South Shore Hospital, they were sent to Children’s Hospital in Boston, where a battery of tests were run. The following day, they received news that no parent should ever have to hear - Ellie was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. They were advised to commence treatment immediately. Currently, Ellie is undergoing chemotherapy at Children’s Hospital and will continue her treatments at Dana Farber/The Jimmy Fund in Boston. Her prognosis is strong and we are confident that she will have the strength to beat this.
We would like to raise proceeds for their expenses and Ellie’s treatment over the coming months. Both Mike and Meghan will need to take leaves from work to focus on caring for Ellie, in addition to caring for their other two children, Madelyn and James. Our goal is that Mike and Meghan can focus on the care of Ellie, free of financial worry.
As you can imagine Mike and Meghan are extremely overwhelmed at this time and while they appreciate all the calls, messages, and sentiment - they are not always able to respond to all the kind gestures. Please know that they have read your messages and your love and support has given them much strength this past week. We welcome you to leave a message for them on this page.
