If you are reading this, chances are you are a person who wants to make a difference and an impact in this world and individual lives. Thank you. My name is David Kruse, and in the Fall of 2023, I will be a Junior at Concordia University Irvine, studying Marketing and Data Analytics. I am currently fundraising for the opportunity to travel with Concordia's school program called ATW (Around The World). Together, 25 of us students and professors will experience global classes, service outreach, and worship. Our goal as a group is to grow in our Christian faith, to grow in our intellectual capacity, and to grow in empathy and cross-cultural vision.
Some of the countries that we will be going to include: Cambodia, Thailand, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Greece, Israel, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, and Costa Rica. We will be spending roughly three weeks in each country.
Serving God and others around the globe is at the heart of this trip. In every country we visit, we will seek to understand different cultures while learning unique ways of serving their needs. For example, our group will help single mothers and play sports with their kids in Rwanda. When we go to Germany, we will work with missionaries and support their goal of providing for refugees in their area. The ability to serve these people and provide for their needs will be a great honor and a character builder. Your financial support will be a tremendous blessing in accomplishing these goals.
In addition to reaching the goal of the group, as mentioned in the first paragraph, this is a very special opportunity for growth elsewhere in my faith life, studies, and understanding of the world. As a student in marketing, I am given the responsibility of running our social media with the goal of making more people aware of this program. As a result, this opportunity is also a door for an internship, which will help my understanding of marketing and algorithms. I will take 15 credits alongside other students while we travel to these various countries, and these classes will give me a Global Cultural Studies minor.
This is a very exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is my hope that you are moved to help me make this happen financially. Because of the travel, the cost is more than a normal semester, which already proves to be difficult to pay off while working two jobs and being a full-time student. Please pray for me and for this trip that it goes well and makes a big impact not just on us but on the people and communities we will be serving. Anything that you can contribute helps, and for that I thank you.
For more information, please visit the school ATW Website It has videos and more explanations of what the Around-the-Wold Semester entails. Thank you.
Sincerely,
David Kruse
