Tuesday, Texas Husky Rescue received an urgent plea from the Garland Animal Shelter regarding a stray they had picked up that had been severely injured by a car. There was no way we would let this guy strike out.  One of our dedicated husky warriors was on deck, relayed during rush hour traffic and got him to our ER vet. Crash Davis was in shock, suffering from severe bruising to his lungs and was having a difficult time breathing. Along with his lung trauma this boy had TWO broken legs! His front leg had a major league fracture and his humerus bone had been basically shattered. Crash's rear leg had been completely "cracked off" from his hip. He made it through Tuesday night without complications. So his surgery was scheduled for Thursday morning.

Crash had both his surgeries yesterday and came out like the Champ he is. His remarkable vet believes he is only 7 months old and should recover well. There is a 70% chance that his front leg will heal completely and not require amputation. 

Please send healing thoughts, love and prayers.  Crash has a long recovery road ahead of him.  Crash will need to remain in the ER until Monday or Tuesday.  He can barely move on his own and will need to be shifted every few hours.  Crash has a Power-Hitting Foster Family willing to give him the intensive care, patience and love that he will need after he leaves the ER next week.  

The staff at the ER vet cannot say enough nice things about Crash.  He has been sweet and patient throughout this whole ordeal.  Although he may miss a few seasons we know he will have the bases loaded for that game winning Homerun very soon.
