The Hometown Team: Be Brave, Be Strong
Youth sports is now dominated by elite club teams that draw players from many different towns, counties and even states. Our story is one of 'The Hometown Team.' We are a group of U12 girl soccer players predominantly from Wyckoff, NJ that pride themselves on being supportive friends and teammates that are taking on the 'giants of the soccer world.'
Our mission is to show how a group of friends, through hard work and dedication, can compete with the 'best of the best.'
We are competitive and do like to win but our message is simple 'Be Brave, Be Strong' on and off the field. We are teaching our girls life lessons, that it takes hard work and dedication to achieve your goals; that a setback is the perfect learning opportunity to move forward; that life is challenging and if you want something you need to work for it.
Our team has played in many premier East Coast soccer tournaments and played teams from MA, NY, DE, MD, VA, NC, MI, OH and TX. We are currently ranked #1 in NJ by GotSoccer and are now setting our sites on the West Coast!
In January, during MLK weekend, our goal is to travel to a prestigious West Coast tournament, The Vegas Cup, to play teams from CA, AZ, NV, WA AND UT. All proceeds are for player expenses (airline ticket, hotel room, meals, and tournament fees.) We are estimating $1500 per player, coach and tournament fee.
For our girls, this is much more than a soccer tournament. It is a statement of their hard work, dedication and friendship. Help make it a reality.
