Hi, thank you for reading my story. It’s long and I’ll try to keep it short. At 26 yr old I got really sick out of nowhere and ended up on dialysis. Doctors didn’t know what was wrong with me. I spent 3 yrs traveling around from hospital to hospital to only end up with no real answers other then a rare auto immune that attack my kidneys. I had to join a research to get a chance at a kidney transplant and it was out of town at John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. I got in the hands of Dr Robert Montgomery. You may have seen him on Dr Oz or CBS and many other shoes for his amazing work in the transplant kidney field. He saved my life and gave me life again. I had the first kidney 9 yrs then I caught an infection while out of state for my cousins wedding called C-Diff. It was awful and it killed my transplanted kidney I was not really a good candidate for a second transplant due to my rare illness but yet Dr Montgomery took me under his wing again in the research and got me another kidney. How blessed am I? He said I was such a good patient and followed everything they taught me so he knew I would take very good care of myself and new kidney. After the second transplant I notice my stomach enlarged and after some imaging they found that my ureter collapsed. We did procedures for 8 months where they put a stent and exchanged out to strengthen the ureter and the doctors felt it was strong enough to not do anymore and I could go without the procedures yay! No more traveling from Akron to Baltimore and no more procedures. My life was normal again for about 10 months then i stated having multiple kidney infections and before I knew it I went sepsis for 9 days completely out cold, no kidney function and my caretaker was told to be prepared and start planning for my exit. I woke up and by the Grace of God my kidney has bounced back. The doctors are amazed and say I’m a true walking miracle. But we still have a weak Ureter. I found Dr Montgomery again, which now he is with New York Langone Hospital and he is now doing transplants called U to U. His team have done enough in the research side that he feels this will be the fix I need. So here I am traveling back and forth from Akron to New York. I’m so grateful to have both transplant doctors being the team to do this surgery because they both know how the kidney is placed inside me because they did them. This is a very intense surgery. Taking my naive ureter and tying it together with the kidney and bladder. I only have Medicare and I am hoping for help with my travels. I need a place to stay for a month, gas, tolls, parking, food and taxis after I get there. Any form of help is greatly appreciated, gas cards, food cards ( New York, EZPass or if you have hotels stays or just regular funds. I plan on setting up a post to follow my journey for my donors. It will be ran by my caretaker. Thank you for reading my story and thank you for any help, but most of all I would love Prayers and positive thoughts sent my way. God is so Good and I know he will provide and make a way for me. Thank you Tanya
