Help Kayla and family during Cancer treatment

Hi my name is Marlene Diaz mother of Kayla Diaz.

Kayla is 15 years old in the 10th grade at San Pedro High School, she is sweet, caring, very dedicated and has a positive mind set, and enjoys helping her three younger siblings and helping friends at school, she loves being in the band at San Pedro High School The Golden Pirate Regiment as the section leader for the trumpets, she is a huge fan of the Dodgers and is a gamer, she has always put her education first growing up and has always been recognized for her achievements as a straight A student.

Kayla had Ewing Sarcoma cancer at age 10 in 2018 and did chemotherapy and radiation and had been in remission since June 2019.

Unfortunately I’m making this gofundme today because my daughter Kayla Diaz was diagnosed with a new cancer called Osteosarcoma after doctors discovered a new mass on her left hip lesion that showed on her CT and MRI scans on September 12th.

She had 2 surgeries for bone marrow and biopsy within 3 weeks in September. Kayla kept attending school and did her normal activities meanwhile we waited for results.

Now moving forward with results we received on October 17th with a plan the doctor gave us for Kayla, she will be doing chemotherapy and a surgery in a few months to remove it and then more chemotherapy after that at the Millers Children Hospital in Long Beach.

My daughter is sad that she will be experiencing going through chemotherapy again and everything that comes with it and having to leave her friends, school and specially The San Pedro High School Golden Pirate Regiment band that she looks forward to going to everyday.

She gets her surgery to place her port on Nov. 7th and start chemotherapy a few hours after.

As I will be there every step of the way with my daughter through this journey I will be putting a hold on my small business doing hair when kayla is in treatment and still manage to take care of my three younger children while this is going on. Me and my family will benefit from the donations to help us stay afloat with any financial hardships. From experiencing this first hand already this is very mentally, physically and financially draining and still having to be there not just for Kayla but also for my three other children too as positive as I can while dealing with this can be very challenging. I raised a warrior so I know my baby girl will beat this again and with the strong faith and ongoing prayers and with our trust in god anything is possible.
