Home lost in Paradise Camp Fire
Donation protected
Please donate to help Mykayla, Pat, and kids begin to rebuild their lives.
On November 8, the Camp Fire burned through Paradise, CA, and surrounding communities, devastating the lives of many, including my niece, Mykayla (24) , and her family, Pat, Jackson (5), Bubba (11) and Maddy (12).
Mykayla was out of town at her step dad’s funeral and Pat was working when they heard the news. Pat tried to return to Paradise to get the cats and important items but was denied entrance. Luckily their friend was able to grab the kids and the dogs and head down the mountain while fire was falling around then. With only a few minutes to evacuate, they weren’t able to grab anything, including their cats, their computers filled with a lifetime of memories of photos, treasures from their past, or clothes.
They have lost everything and will be completely starting over from scratch.
There will be many unforeseen and unexpected expenses in coming months, including the costs associated with renting a place to live, replacing the lost items, and recovering and rebuilding from this horrific tragedy.
Mykayla and Pat are kind people who always help others. They are raising Mykayla’s siblings with no outside help. Every Christmas Mykayla and the kids work and sell miseltoe to buy gifts for children in need. Pat is in Chico signing up to volunteer as I write this. Now they are in desperate need.
Please consider helping their family. Anything you can give to help them is greatly appreciated.
