Hello, my name is Hani Sarhan, and I’m reaching out on behalf of our dear friend Habib (Elie) Gouel. Habib is facing a devastating medical crisis that has completely overturned his life. He urgently needs our support to regain his health and return to work.

What Happened

Just a year ago, Habib was diagnosed with serious heart issues and underwent a surgical procedure to remove artery blockage at Trillium Hospital. While the operation successfully addressed his heart condition, an unexpected complication arose during his hospital stay. Habib developed severe swellings in both his knees and feet, which quickly progressed and left him unable to walk. For the past year, he has been trapped in this condition—unable to walk, and unable to work.

The Medical Mystery

Despite countless appointments with his hospital team, family doctor, and specialists, the underlying cause of Habib’s complication remains a mystery. He was prescribed numerous medications, but nothing has helped. The wait times for new specialist appointments are heartbreaking—he won’t be able to see the experts he desperately needs until mid-to-late 2026. Habib simply cannot wait that long for additional diagnosis and treatment. He hopes to seek new medical diagnostics, consultations, and treatment, with private expert doctors, so he can get back to work as soon as possible.

The Financial Crisis

Habib’s inability to walk means he cannot work. Over the past year, his income has dwindled, his savings are gone, and his bills are mounting. Now, he faces the very real threat of losing his home.
