Help Rocky Walk Again

Hi, my name is Rebekah Dorr and I want to tell you about someone very special in my and my family’s lives.

In the summer of 2011, I was suddenly struck with strange weakness that led to rapid paralysis. Weeks of emergency room visits and terrifying testing finally led us to a diagnosis, a rare and incurable muscle disease known as Myasthenia Gravis. But in the middle of this new journey, I found myself paralyzed and bed bound, alone and afraid.

Around this same time, we heard of a young puppy who had been abandoned on the side of the road and who needed a forever family. I was unable to go, but two of my family members went to see him and fell in love right away. He was desperately sick with parvo and kennel cough and we were told to not get our hopes up he would live. But, like me, he needed a friend to help him through his hard moments. We bonded quickly. He was always by my side, somehow sensing how much I needed him. We nursed him through and found joy flooding our hearts when he was given the all clear. He continued to stay faithfully by my side through thick and thin. 




Now, my little guy needs my help once again. A few days ago, he ruptured his acl and needs a surgery to repair it.  His case is complex and unfortunately cannot heal on its own and alternative therapies have been shown to have a low chance of success. He tore his acl on his left leg last year and I am still struggling to pay off the cost. Our little guy is bed bound, much like I was all those years ago and this time, he needs me like I needed him.


Because I am disabled, the cost has become insurmountable on my own. Many have come to know me and my journey through my volunteer work with the MG community and the consuming struggle for my own care. Now, I need the help and compassion of others to help me over this hurdle and give my precious fella the chance to heal and walk again with this surgery.

All funds will go only to cover his surgery, therapy and medication.
