Helping my sister get back on her feet. ♥️

Hi, my name is Sarah Donaldson and I’m starting this GoFundMe to help out my amazing sister Nikki, who recently went through the scariest time of her life, as well as our families..

Thursday October the 5th, she woke up and went to the gym and was having some neck pain and stiffness, and decided to make a chiropractor appointment before work to see if she needed an adjustment. The chiropractor adjusted her neck at the appointment after she had told him she was having a headache with neck pain and stiffness, she felt a little relief right after and went into work. But then had to go home from work a couple hours after because of extreme head pain, dizziness, and vision changes. She went home to try and take a nap and woke up having a full-blown stroke with left-sided deficits. She cannot see out of her left eye, she could not move her extremities on her left side, and she was having slurred speech with the worst headache of her life. She was rushed to the hospital, and because she was medical informed them right away that she was having a stroke.She received TPA to bust the clot in her brain, causing the stroke while in CAT scan. But they discovered that she still has a clot present in the vertebrae of her neck. The clot that went to her brain was caused by the chiropractor, adjusting her neck and causing a dissection. She is doing better but found out yesterday she has a 8% vision loss in her left eye and still has sensory deficits on her left side completely with numbness, tingling and burning all the time. They are hopeful it will resolve, but with the stroke causing a piece of her brain tissue to die it may be long-term.

I am starting this GoFundMe me to help with her many medical bills, the further treatment she’ll need to recover, therapies, lost wages, and medications she will now have to be on. If you know my sister you know she is extremely healthy and active and this has been a very challenging time for her, having to slow down and let her body heal. She’s the most generous person I know and lives to help others. Even after her stroke she was still trying to take care of everybody else, that’s just who she is. Any little bit helps to get her back on her feet and hopefully in time she can make a full recovery.
