Hello, my name is Nichole and my very good friend Tywanda was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Tywanda is an amazing mother of three beautiful, charismatic, and loving daughters who rely on her for support, love, and see her as their role model. Armani, 24, Ja'Miya, 17, and Rayven, 11, are all working/going to school every day and supporting their mom through this difficult time.
Once diagnosed, Tywanda was almost immediately taken out of work as a store manager. She has worked retail all her life, dedicating 22 years to a grocery store chain and then exploring a new adventure with Dollar General where she continues to serve the community daily as well as provide for her children. She truly is a beautiful person who strives daily to better her family, friends, employees, community, and people she works with.
So far, Tywanda's treatment has been fast-moving and invasive. She had an emergency surgery that led to the diagnosis of colon cancer, which resulted in another surgery removing her left colon, part of her right, and a full hysterectomy. While still in the hospital recovering from surgery, she found that the cancer has spread to her liver. Treatment at this point is rapid and invasive and requires her to be out of work.
Tywanda has an amazing mother, children, loved ones, and friends who are by her side and helping in any way we possibly can, but unfortunately, we need some help with medical costs, living expenses, and care for her children. Anything, no matter how big or small, goes a long way and would be greatly appreciated by Tywanda, her children, family, and friends.
