Tytherington Juniors FC are fundraising to raise funds towards purchasing our own ride on mower.
Due to cuts in budgets, the community playing fields are struggling under the differing weather conditions ... the grass is growing quicker than ever but the current way of working is not keeping up with the growth - this means that continually our players are finding it difficult to play football on the pitches.
On a Sat & Sun, we have over 220 players using the facility but at times ... they are playing on a pitch, that is not at its best for them. The drainage is first class. We would also like to hold other events / games on the facility long term and having access to our own mower would really help with this.
ANSA are doing a brilliant job in maintaining them, in difficult circumstances but we as a club want the fields to be perfect ..... or as near to this as we can get for our players and for our community!!
We have recently met with Richard Campey from Campey Turf Care and he generously offered to sell us a ride on mower at an unbelievable price (£1500), we are reluctant to use club funds for this so ideally we want to try and tap into the community's generosity and see if we can gather some donations. Richard also offered some incredible insight and details on how we can maintain the fields properly going forward but the cost for the machinery to do this ... would be upwards of £25k.
Richard has kindly offered to both provide a new battery, clean up and sharpen the blades on the mower.
We appreciate the financial world we live in currently so if we need to purchase the mower as a club, we will do this but we thought no harm in asking ..... we obviously already pay to rent the exclusive use of Rugby Drive but we need to do more ......
We have been blessed with three volunteers having already undertaken their FA grounds keeper course (Course ), so are qualified to use the machinery - we have the relevant insurance in place .... we just need to some help !!
If there is a company out there that would perhaps like to sponsor the Mower ..... we can certainly look into this - sure we can sort a sign out ! Could also sort some videos out of the mower being used weekly, sure our groundskeepers would love this!
Feel free to contact Matt directly here, if you would like to discuss sponsorship, have any ideas re; the pitches or would also like to help with the upkeep of the fields. Ideally the pitches would be cut twice a week. Once on a Mon, then on a Thur/Fri .... we understand likely to be around 2hrs a cut in a volunteers time.
We are also in the process of trying to sort out temporary toilets for the facility but we are praying we can get football foundation assistance with this purchase - which would transform the community facility and also give much needed access to toilets for our boys and girls.
