Well, I swore I was a one-and-done type of guy. But as many of you know, I've recently started training for another marathon. With a little nudge from a friend, I decided to give it a go one more time and run the NYC Marathon this November.
Marathon training is quite the commitment. Many people ask why run one? I do it because it not only tests my physical endurance, but it truly tests my mental strength as well. I can't wait to physically cross that finish line in November, but it will be the support I receive from friends and family during training and along the race route that will ultimately push me through.
A marathon is a lot like life. We can train and prepare ourselves for a lot. But sometimes we've got to rely on the support of those around us to push us through.
With that in mind, I've decided to take this opportunity to raise funds and awareness for an incredible organization focused on mental health. Samaritans of New York is the only community-based organization in the NYC-Metropolitan area solely devoted to preventing suicide and helping people in crisis.
I'm running this marathon to raise as much as I can for this incredible cause and I’m asking for your help. Want to join me in contributing? Any little bit will help.
Thank you for your support! Together we can make a difference.
