Help Restore Rare Grant Green Sr. Footage – Share the Groove

Donation protected
Grant Green Sr. was one of jazz’s most soulful guitarists—a master of melody, rhythm, and feel. Known for his work with Blue Note Records in the '60s and '70s, his unique blend of bebop, blues, and funk left a deep mark on jazz and modern music. Though his name isn't as widely known as it should be, his influence echoes in the playing of countless musicians today.

Recently, previously unseen footage of Grant Green performing live has surfaced—an incredibly rare visual record of his genius at work. This material is fragile and in need of restoration, and we want to bring it back to life and share it with the world.

We’re raising funds to professionally restore and release this footage so that longtime fans and new generations alike can experience Grant Green the way he was meant to be seen: alive, in the groove, on stage.

Your support will go directly toward:

Restoring and preserving the original film

Licensing and clearance

Professional editing and production

Making the footage available for public viewing

If Grant’s music has touched you—or if you believe in preserving the legacy of great Black American artists—please consider contributing. Let’s give Grant Green Sr. the spotlight he earned, and let the world see the sound he made so unforgettable.
