Hi everyone we as a family have set up this go fund me page to raise funds for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, in memory of our Tyrone Burgess, who was an immensely talented young man, who spent the past two and a half years in Australia as a welder, whilst also living his dream of seeing some of Australia’s incredible sights such as Fraser Island and Great Barrier Reef. Tyrone died tragically in Perth, Australia in November 2024 and the entire family circle is devastated. Tyrone was a much loved son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and boyfriend and he is remembered by his friendship circle as one of a kind, with his outgoing yet gentle nature and his witty sense of humour. He really was the life of any and every party.
The pain we have felt over the loss of Tyrone is immeasurable and the burden of arranging repatriation to get our boy home has been lifted by this amazing charity. We have no words to describe how helpful and accommodating they have been at assisting us in navigating the intricacies of returning him back to his hometown of Raffrey. They also assisted with the logistics of arranging for a service to be held in Perth, where his friends and girlfriend could pay him one last tribute, which was invaluable to them, as Tyrone meant so much to his Australian friend group, work colleagues and much loved girlfriend Sarah. We will shortly have Tyrone back home with us, as a result of the incredible arrangements from the Kevin Bell Trust. They have supported us from start to finish, logistically and financially, easing our worries surrounding the high costs repatriation entails, which highlights just how invaluable this charity is to grieving families, including ours and the other 1600 families they have helped to date.
We know a lot of you have been asking how you can help out and where you can donate, and we would like to offer this page as a way to give back to this remarkable charity. No thanks will ever be enough for the impeccable support they have given to our family in this insanely difficult time and we hope to be able to give back to show our appreciation and to enable them to support other families who endure a loss of a loved one abroad. Any donation no matter how big or small is appreciated and if our target is exceeded any remaining amounts will go towards his funeral costs at home and also to the following charities who also do great work.
