On October 27th, our beloved Tyrone Gainer passed away unexpectedly while visiting Apple Valley, California, for a family wedding. Tyrone didn’t have any burial or health insurance, and our family is now facing the unexpected burden of bringing him back home to Georgia to lay him to rest.
Tyrone was more than just a Harlem Globetrotter legend. He made a name for himself on the court at Life University, where he won a championship, and at Randolph-Clay High School, where he was known for his incredible basketball skills and love for coaching others. He touched so many lives with his passion for the game, his dedication to his family, and his warm, generous spirit.
We are raising $20,000 to cover the costs of transporting Tyrone from California back to Edison, Georgia, and to ensure he has a proper funeral and burial. The transportation and flight costs alone are around $6,000 to $7,000. We also need to cover about $7,000 for the church and cemetery fees, burial, plus additional expenses like food and a place to gather for his service.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us bring Tyrone home and give him the farewell he deserves. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign and keep our family in your prayers. We will post updates as we go through this process, and we are so grateful for your love and support during this difficult time.
