Tyrek Carlton

Tyrek Carlton was a Son, Brother, "Nephew" and Friend. The world has lost one of it's truly good people. Tyrek passed away in the hospital on Sunday, January 28th to a sudden and yet unknown cause. He was 26 years old. He was ever the great son and big brother, always helping his mother, Rose, with taking care of his younger siblings in any way he could. Never one to complain, whether it be that the electricity or water was shut off at home or carrying a bag of clothes while they were moving from shelter to shelter. He always put his family's needs ahead of his own. You would never know he ever had a problem in his life with his engaging and light hearted demeanor. I met this great man, two and a half years ago when I became the Chef at McGillins Olde Ale House. The first thing you noticed about him was his great attitude and smile. Always being silly and adding such a positive vibe to a kitchen environment that can become quite stressful. Tyrek was one of the only people I've ever met to not complain or show anger. He quickly became a great friend and little brother. The first person to help in any situation, whether it being, someone calling out for a shift or working a double in a moment's notice. He was my "Go to Guy" in the kitchen whenever a problem arose. I, like many of my co-workers are shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of a man we grew to love. I have created this account to help his family in their great time of need. I know that there is no monetary amount that could replace the warmth and joy he brought to his friends and family, but I hope in your hearts that we could all be like Tyrek Carlton and give to others without a thought of ourselves.
