Tyr Taekwondo's Board Breaking Week for Charity!

We are back again for Board Breaking Week on February 3, 5, and 6 of 2020!

You may remember that in December of 2018 (our 2018/19 season), our ITF Taekwon-Do school (Tyr ITF Taekwon-Do under head instructor and owner Bruce Csanyi) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada held a Board Breaking Week where over the course of our training week, we broke boards using our martial arts skills to benefit a worthy charity. During that time, we raised $1185.00 and we were even featured on Global News for our efforts.

This year, for our 2019/20 season, you'd better believe we are at it again on Feb 3, 5, and 6. Our goal is a little bit bigger this year as 50% of the total money raised will go to the West End Senior's Activity Centre, a fine organization dedicated to the betterment of seniors in our community, a group with which we have developed a close working relation with over the years and who have given us their full support. The other 50% will go to the Red Cross for the Australian Wildfire Relief Efforts.  We do have the full support of the Red Cross in gathering these donations, however, we are not affiliated with the Red Cross and these donations are done independently and on our own behalf and accord for a good cause. 

For every $10 that we raise, we will break one board and at the conclusion of our event, these breaks will once again be uploaded online for all to see!

We feel that the more people whom we can help through our art reflects the true value of martial arts and we would appreciate the help from every single one of you! We would love to help everyone and every cause in the world, but every difference can change lives!

The "Board Breaking Week" has officially concluded. We have raised $3212 total to split amongst our two charities for a total of $1606 to each.
