Family home destroyed by Typhoon Ursula
On Christmas Day, Typhoon Ursula hit my mothers home town unexpectedly, and unfortunately, her home had major damage done after just having spent over $3000 updating her house with new paint, new roofing, and other maintenance. 2019 was supposed to be the year that she would begin her transition to living in Los Angeles to be closer to her 3 grandsons and family, but with this natural disaster, it has caused a big financial burden on her and disrupted her plans of being with her family. Of the 3 houses on the property, all 3 lost and/or destroyed her roofing and insulation, shattered glass on sliding doors, as took doors of their hinges and broke lighting fixtures.
The biggest hit is the water damage that affected the bones of the home, which at this point in time will still be determined of how much damage it really caused.
The island is currently still without electricity, so she will have to find a way to make all the necessary repairs while trying to live under those circumstances. I’m hoping to raise $3000 to help support my mother in an effort to offset the money she just had invested into the property, as well as assist in this costly and necessary clean up and repairs.
With your generous donation, we will help repair and secure the home I hold so dearly to my heart.
As a token of our appreciation, we have decided to offer a 3 night stay for donations over $50 in our beautiful island destination of Boracay Island. We will gladly send you photos of the new and improved tropical home and welcome you as a local.
