Help Families in Batas Island Recover After Typhoon Tino

My name is Pierlo, and along with my family, we have been proud residents of Batas Island, Palawan, Philippines, for over 23 years. For the past 15 years, I have been running Seadoors, a scuba diving liveaboard company based in Cebu.

Recently, Typhoon Tino devastated Batas Island and many other parts of the Philippines. Batas Island is a very remote island in Palawan, and unfortunately, it is often forgotten by aid programs and local foundations, which focus more on their own assets than on the urgent needs of local families.

As longtime residents, my family and I want to help the families of Batas who are in desperate need of assistance. Using our personal funds along with resources from Seadoors, we are organising an initial trip to bring essential goods and roof reconstruction supplies to the island.

However, our efforts alone will not be sufficient. That is why we need your generous donations to raise at least PHP 500,000.00 to make a substantial impact.

I am closely coordinating with my two trusted caretakers who live at my personal home in Batas. They are in direct contact with the Barangay Captain of Barangay Batas, ( the island’s "mayor" ), to ensure that aid is organised efficiently and reaches those who need it most.

This Saturday, with initial funds from Seadoors and myself, we will send goods and supplies from Puerto Princesa using a 4x4 truck and personal boat to Batas Island. Your support will help us amplify these efforts and bring real relief and hope to the families affected by this disaster.
