Typhoon Odette Philippines Disaster Relief

Last week, Super Typhoon Rai, known locally as Typhoon Odette, made landfall in the Philippines and has left widespread destruction across the archipelago. Typhoon Odette generated  wind speeds exceeding 240kph, flooding, landslides, and caused mass blackouts throughout the country.

Even with preemptive evacuations and storm preparations, Typhoon Odette has left at least 375 dead and hundreds missing, and even more injured. Entire communities have been completely cut off and are uncontactable, due to power lines being destroyed and roads being unnavigable because of landslides and fallen trees and powerlines

With tens of thousands of homes destroyed, electrical and water lines damaged, more devastation is expected over the coming weeks, in the form of water-borne diseases and food and water security issues.

At this time, Mad Monkey and TruTravels are asking for donations of any amount to help aid those in need. The funds raised will be used to send food, water, and building materials to affected communities across Siargao, Cebu, and Palawan, where our Mad Monkey and TruTravels families are located. We will send funds to community leaders in hard hit areas who will purchase and distribute goods to those who need it. Visit this page, Mad Monkey or TruTravels social media channels for regular updates on how your donations will help the locals affected!

*This GoFundMe is officially associated with Mad Monkey  and TruTravels . All funds raised will go directly to the hardest hit communities in Siargao, Cebu, and Palawan to provide food, water, and building supplies for the locals affected by Typhoon Odette.
