Help Typhoon Rai Relief - for Church Family
Donation protected
Typhoon Rai/Odette hit closer to home than Idaho expected! Local youth leader and newlywed Charles Adkison’s bride and her extended family are Church leaders in La' Libertad, Philippines. Their home, church and community were recently devastated by Super Typhoon Odet with category 5 hurricane winds and downpour that took at least 375 lives. We praise God that their lives were spared, but the storm left behind massive damage to their homes, local roads, power and water sources.

Overcome by the joy after the center of the storm passed over her family's home for eight hours.
Charles' wife Melchize, or Chize as we all know her, was raised on this church property. Her church, Quicken Word, has been a place of refuge and stability for the community in many times of trial. It is where her mother and late father have dedicated their lives serving the people of La Libertad. So much so, that the whole town knows Chyze's mother, Paster Irene Montuya only as Mom or Nanai in their language. Nanai & Chize are utilizing the church, that is miraculously still standing, to serve as a hub for those in need during this disaster. Several people (including youth) who have lost everything are now sleeping there.
According to local authorities, it will be four months or more before the community's power is restored.
Chize & Irene's Church is positioned to supply vital power to the surrounding families. Under such extreme circumstances, even flashlights and cell phones are now basic survival tools, and desperately need a power source.
The first priority through this GoFundMe campaign is to:
✅ Raise enough money to purchase & ship a generator.
✅ Finds enough run a generator for the first month.
✅ Funds towards putting a roof back on the home, which also functions as a ministry school.
☑️ Contributions to blessing members of the community in as much as possible.
☑️ ADDRESS repairs any of us would consider vital, yet are not nearly as tied to immediate survival threats. Such as water damage and repairing the electrical wires pulled from the building along with the roof.
Giving to this campaign is an opportunity to make a very strong and tangible impact in many people’s lives.
The couple thought separated by covid restrictions for two years now, has chosen to use their long awaited wedding ceremony funds to expedite this generator and safe housing.
" The severity of this disaster is hard to imagine. The sooner we can get them assistance the better before even more resources become scarce." C. Adkison
