Type1D Can't Beat Me!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chase Blanton, I am a 51 year old with Type 1 Diabetes that loves riding and racing bicycles. On June 10th, I am embarking on a 2,700+-mile, ultra-endurance bikepacking event called The Tour Divide. The Tour Divide is an offroad self-supported ride, meaning there is no support team for equipment failures or medical issues. This route has been a dream of mine for quite some time, and it's been a journey getting here. T1D is a disease you can never stop thinking about or ignore. It will make this ride even more challenging, so I plan to document my journey as a person with diabetes with the hopes it will encourage other Type 1's to get out there and challenge themselves.
I want to raise $5,000 for contingencies and support JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) to continue their research to find a cure to end T1D. I've spent years working with the JDRF Ride Department, and it's time I give back to a great cause and fight for a cure. Thank you all, and see you on the dirt in June.
