Jim Tynan is a fun, loving husband and devoted father. He has a servants heart whether you are a friend or stranger. Jim will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who know him.
In October 2018, Jim experienced severe neck and shoulder pain that he believed was from a go cart incident. After visiting the doctor and numerous tests, the doctors found lesions in different areas of his body. On Dec. 14, 2018 he was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma (unknown primary origin of cancer).
Jim's cancer journey brought him to Yale New Haven Smilow Cancer hospital for 7 weeks. During this time he started chemo treatment and target radiation. Jim's attitude with the many, many friends and family that visited him was upbeat and positive. The doctors were encouraged and approved a transfer to a rehabilitation center to start focus on physical therapy. We were so hopeful for the future.
Within 24 hours at the center, Jim developed a fever and was transferred to the hospital where he was diagnosed with several complications. The days went by and Jim seemed to lose his strength, appetite and was given the news his cancer had progressed.
Jim requested to go home when his prognosis changed to hospice and the doctors agreed. Three days later Jim came home to Harwinton to be with his family.
March 1, 2019, Jim went to be with his Lord and Savior. He passed peacefully with his family at his side at the young age of 55.
Jim leaves behind his devoted, loving wife Connie, his two sons Cory, Mitchell, his daughter in law Ashley and his sweet dog Summer.
Connie now has the sole responsibility to provide financially for their family after losing her love to this terminal disease.
The funds raised here will be used to offset the cost for incoming medical expenses occurred during the months Jim received care.
