#TylerTough - Tyler's Cancer Journey

As a mom, I prayed over each of my kids and for their future partner in life.  I truly believe God brought Tyler into Kaitlyn and Dax's life at such a crucial moment for all three of them.  He is a hard-working provider for their family and I love how much he loves my daughter and his boys.

Seven weeks ago, Tyler went to the doctor for a mass that seemed to appear overnight.  His labs and biopsy confirmed that he has testicular cancer.  Although this is a fairly common cancer and in most cases it has a high success rate, the type he has is rare and aggressive and unfortunately, post-surgery testing have determined that the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes and he has numerous tumors in his stomach and aorta.  The treatment plan is a very aggressive one and they have met with Medical Center's oncology department who want to begin chemotherapy that will leave him unable to work for a minimum of two months with surgery to follow if chemo is successful.   They have consulted with Cancer Treatment Center of America  and will leave for Atlanta tomorrow to have another biopsy and more testing to determine the best treatment route for him.  They have been denied short term disability twice due to disability losing their paperwork and they are doing everything they can to fight for his benefits.

Their needs are many and they will probably be upset with me for posting this as these two have dug in with everything in them to work side jobs, painting & cleaning apartments,  making clothing and jewelry to sell, having pallet sales, etc. to try to prepare for this time that they will be without income, but their medical and living expenses are going to far exceed what they have been able to do.

I never in a million years thought I would be setting up a Go Fund Me.  We aren't a family that asks for help.  We figure out a way, somehow, some way and we get it done as a family, but this is much bigger than Kaitlyn and Tyler can handle and if you could help them in any way during this time, they could really use it now more than ever.  First and foremost, please keep them in your prayers this week as they face a multitude of tests, lots of information and tons of decisions for two 26 year olds to be facing this early in life.

Tyler & Kait - Please don't be mad at me and know that it's okay to ask for help.  Love you both so much.  Sending our prayers and love with you and the boys as you leave for Atlanta.  Remember more than anything that God is holding you both in His hands and He will guide you every step of the way.
