Tyler's Medical Fund

On April 16, 2016, Tyler's parents took him in to the ER after he had suffered from headaches for several days. There it was discovered that he had a brain tumor about the size of a golf ball close to his brain stem, and the tumor was bleeding into his brain. He was life-flighted to Primary Children's hospital, where he was admitted into surgery the very next morning to remove the tumor.
The surgery was a success, and the tumor was completely removed! Tyler is currently in recovery while the tumor is carefully evaluated to determine whether radiation or other therapy is needed.
Tyler is so loved by his parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother, as well as so many other family members and friends. We are all praying hard for him, and appreciate all thoughts and prayers on their behalf.

Tyler's parents have a policy for him, but there is a coverage limit, and it will not be adequate for a situation of this magnitude. The bills are quickly piling up, including the life flight, brain surgery, and probably at least a week at Primary Children's hospital in the Pediatric ICU and Neuro Trauma unit. He will need continued follow-up care in coming weeks to allow the brain and head to heal. With these medical bills, there will be a significant discount--up to 40%, if they are paid quickly. As time goes by, the discounts lessen and then become unavailable. At this point in time, the future is unknown as far as possible cancer treatments and follow-up care. Anything you can contribute would be very appreciated!!
On a personal note, we recently moved from the Stums' neighborhood into a different one, but we were neighbors for a few years, and we just adore the Stum family. During our time there, we had several family emergencies including 2 surgeries and the birth of a child. EVERY time, Kristen was a first responder, offering to watch our kids, bringing meals, and checking up on us. I hope she won't be embarrassed that I share this, but she was a true friend when I really needed one. I know many of you feel the same way.
The Stums are used to being there for others, but are a little uncomfortable asking for help themselves. They were a bit hesitant to allow fund-raising campaigns on their behalf, and they don't want anyone to feel pressure to donate. But under the circumstances, they allowed me to set up this fund for those of you who feel inclined to help.
Thanks so much for the thoughts, prayers, texts, donations, bake sales, offers for help, cards, visits, and kindness.
Let's help Tyler beat this!!
