Tyler's Amazing Journey

Donation protected
Hello as many of you already know Tyler was involved in a horrific car accident on September 20th. Where he was ejected from the vehicle he was a passenger in. Creating fractures at the C1,2,4,5,and C6 level in his neck and causing severe damage to his spinal cord. He also fractured his sternum which in turn puntured his lung. After being life flighted to St. Vincent Hospital in GreenBay Tyler spent the first nine days in the ICU until which time he was stable enough to receive his first of two surgeries to his neck. Following right after he developed ARDS (Acute respiratory distress syndrome)to his lungs. Which caused him to be put on Ecmo (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) a second form of life support. Tyler was on this for the next 16 days until his lungs started to bounce back and come to life. Three more weeks in the ICU went by until he was once again deemed stable enough for his second and final surgery to stabilize his spinal column. A week later we were transfered to a Specialty Hospital in Madison to help wean him off of all ventilator support. We spent the next three weeks there in which time he was able to come off of the ventilator, start to eat regular food again, and begin his Physical and Occupational therapies. At which point he was ready for the next step. Early December we were transfered back to St. Vincent Hospital in GreenBay for in-patient rehab. Over the course of the next 8 weeks Tyler spent there he received both Physical and Occupational Therapies working hard and doing his very best to regain his strength and mobility. At the present moment Tyler has very little motion in his hands and no movement below his chest line. But God willing and with enough support and the right therapists we pray someday he will regain all movement and be set free from his wheelchair. 129 days from the date of the accident our son was finally able to come home. Tyler continues his fight on a daily basis to improve his strength and mobility to which we are the most proud of. To see his determination and will to not give up and to continue pushing forward is awh inspiring.

This fund has been set up to help out Tyler with anything he needs medically or physically to allow him to continue on his journey. The driver of the vehicle had no insurance which makes a horrible situation that much worse. If you are in a position to make a monetary donation every little bit will go a long way. Or if just sharing this message thru facebook, twitter, or to any and all in your contact lists to spread the word. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts in advance and just want all our family, friends, and new friends to know how much your generousity is appreciated.
