Tyler Lynn Morton, 32, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017.     Tyler was a deputy sheriff with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department and had worked for them for 11 years.   His death was caused by complications from the flu.  Completely unexpected and tragic.  The community continues to  mourn the loss of this vibrant young man.

This fund is set up to assist Tyler's wife , Janel, as she moves forward with raising their two children (ages 5 and 7).    Janel will be returning to work soon, but as you can imagine, her family’s life is forever altered. It would be a blessing for her to not have to worry about finances during this time.

Janel spends most of her days caring for others, both professionally, and in her personal life.
She is a great mom, fun-loving, dedicated to her patients, and always willing to help others.   Janel is a Certified Occupational Therapist, employed by Stellar Therapy Services, in Chattanooga, TN.  She provides therapy services to children in several Hamilton County Schools.  She also works with adults in several local hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient facilities.

Tyler was a lifelong resident of the Ringgold, Rock Spring community and graduate of Ringgold High School Class of 2004. He was a member of Battlefield Church of the Nazarene and had recently attended Burning Bush Baptist Church. His passion was spending time with his family.

Survivors are his wife of 10 years, Janel Morton; son, Chance Morton; daughter, Ella Morton; parents, Rick and Susan Morton, Ringgold; brothers, Kyle and Ryley Morton, Ringgold, mother and father-in-law, Jerusha Gravitt, Ringgold, and Mike Floyd, Fort Oglethorpe; grandparents, Jackie and Dorothy Morton, Flintstone; brother-in-law, Grant (Amanda) Floyd, Ringgold; uncle and aunt, Darrell and Melanie Morton, Flintstone; and cousins, Beth (Josh) Elleman, Lafayette, and Missy (Cody) Lee, Lafayette.
