I've been singing country music, playing the guitar, and writing songs for a long time. I've gotten the opportunity to be on a reality tv show about singer-songwriters called Troubadour TX. I've won contests, lost contests, and gotten painfully close to being on "The Voice". I still play out several times a week, and I've been truly blessed to do a lot of cool things with my music.
I am ready to take my music career to the next level, and I'm asking for a little help to get it started. I am planning on going into the recording studio this spring to create at least a 5 song EP. This will be a full band, full production project with all original songs. Once finished the music will be available on CD and itunes. People ask at almost every gig where they can buy my music, and the answer for so long has been nowhere. This will open a lot of doors for my career. It will help legitimize my music. It will help me reach new fans, and start branching out playing places beyond just DFW.
If you enjoy my music, if you believe in it then I'm asking you to help me grow it. Quality studio time isn't cheap. My wife Chelsey and I both work very hard, but most of what's left after we pay bills goes to our son Martin's therapy and growth. Some of you may know, and many of do not, but when Martin was 2 he was diagnosed with Autism. There are obstacles we've had to overcome that we never imagined when we had him. I want to start down a path in my music career that leads to success. Like all husbands and fathers, I want to provide my family with everything they need.
I am going to do this project, and we are saving what money we can. The more studio project donations I receive the sooner I will be able to get started. I am really excited about this next chapter of my career.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to read this. My most heartfelt thanks to those of you who donated your hard earned money to this project. There's been times I've gotten down about the struggles of trying to build a music career. What has kept me going has always been those of you who said, "I really love your music, don't give up because you are going to make it someday".
