Tyler's Testosterone Fund

My name is Tyler and I am an 18-year-old transgender male. I'm trying to raise money to finally start my medical transition by starting testosterone. I came out to my family 3 and a half years ago, and to the rest of the world around 3 years ago. had all the support I needed from therapists, doctors, friends and family. On my 16th birthday, my parents greeted me with a legal name and title change. Around this time I was referred to GIDS (Gender Identity Development Service) by my therapist. I patiently waited for around 6 months, received no indication or updates from them. We contacted the service and they said I should be contacted within 6 months. That time passed and there was no contact, to which I contacted them again. This time I was told I'd be waiting yet another 6-12 months. I was devastated by this,  but I still waited for it. August 8th 2019, about 8 months after the last time I contacted GIDS and 3 months before my 18th birthday, I received a letter. This was the first time GIDS contacted me. The letter was to set up a phone call appointment. During this call, I was asked routine questions. My name, pronouns etc. After this, I was informed that I would not receive any progress on this list due to my upcoming birthday and that I'd be transferred to a different waiting list. I still do not know how long I'll be waiting on the NHS GIDS services and I don't think I can wait any longer. I now plan to go private for my transition. It has been recommended that I use the 'Gendercare' service. This will be my first appointment, where I should then be referred elsewhere to receive Testosterone (HRT).
