On Saturday, July 4, Tyler, JC and their two daughters were spending time with friends and having lots of fun celebrating the recently passed Canada Day. In the blink of an eye and without warning, the festivities came to an abrupt stop when an accident occurred.
Tyler was involved in an accident which resulted in him fracturing his C2. Everyone around immediately jumped to action and within moments, help was on the way. After arriving in the emergency and receiving an X-ray, CT and MRI, the doctors explained how lucky he was. Where the injury occurred, and the severity, he was advised by the doctors that he was lucky to not be a quadriplegic, or dead.
At this current time, Tyler is in the hospital with his wife JC at his side. He has successfully had a Halo brace/ring implanted and is doing exceptionally well. That said, he is not yet in the clear and has an extremely long road of recovery ahead of him... An invasive surgery to repair his C2 is not yet off the table. We all pray it does not come to this.
Tyler is expected to be in the hospital for a little while until he is stable and in a less fragile state. Once he is out of the hospital he will be recovering at home, with his wife JC by his side caring for him and his two young, beautiful daughters present to support.
We have decided to set up this go fund me to help with the cost of living, and other additional costs while Tyler is on the road to recovery and JC is his caregiver.
They are an extremely proud and strong family that always gives back, and never asks for handouts. Any bit helps, as little as it may seem, it may mean the world to the Thompson family during this challenging chapter of their life.

UPDATE: We have exceeded our initial goal within 24 hours and our hearts are so full. This brings tears of joy to all of our faces as we know that we are able to but the burden of the cost of living asside and not have to be stressed about it. Now we can all focus on Tyler's healing journey, support, and keeping normalcy in Tyler and JCs daughters lives.
