In Loving Memory of Tyler Siegel

Donation protected

In the afternoon on March 13th, 2021, our world suddenly stopped.

Tyler Thomas Siegel was a bright, shining example of just how smart, fun, and kind-hearted a human can be. He was stylish, athletic, clever, dramatic and multi-talented.  His generosity and caring heart have been on full display since he was just six years old, as an enthusiastic annual participant in Relay For Life fundraising for the American Cancer Society. He was enormously intelligent, an avid reader, and a superbly creative artist.

Tyler's many talents and skills were put to wonderful and varied use. He danced, sang and performed in both school and community plays and musicals, including The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland. He played the flute in the school band for a time, and also became a master of the baton as a member of his high school Color Guard. As a younger child, he participated in gymnastics, and though he eventually gave it up to make room for his myriad other activities, he remained an excellent acrobat, fully capable of backflips and handstands upon request. He was a wonderful swimmer, and just recently received an Athletic Varsity Award from Tracy High for Outstanding Achievement on the Swim Team. He drew, sketched, made jewelry, altered his own clothing...whatever creative outlet struck, he would attack with full fascination and panache.

Through an all-too-brief life, marked all too often by extraordinary loss, hardship, unacceptance and cruelty from outside sources, and of course, the normal difficulties of becoming a teenager, Tyler maintained a heart of gold. He was kind to all of his family members, was endlessly patient with his little cousins, especially his biggest fan Ella, and a constant source of joy and laughter for his older cousins. He was a masterclass in what true acceptance of self can be, though it was hard-fought and sorely won, and as his 2019 Yearbook stated, he was definitely Most Likely To Become Famous. He was fifteen years old, and would have been sixteen this April.

We are shocked, angered, and heartbroken at having our Tyler ripped away suddenly, unfairly and without explanation. Though the grieving has just begun, his mother is now confronted with the hard reality of the practical considerations that come along with loss. As Tyler was taken so suddenly, his mother is not financially prepared for the crushing weight of final expenses and associated costs. Though the family will help in every way we can, we have also been asked by many how they can contribute and show their support. If you are in any way able to help ease this burden for Tyler's mommy, we respectfully ask that this is the avenue you utilize, with our utmost gratitude and appreciation. Any and all financial contributions will go directly to Tricia, to help cover all unexpected costs during this awful time.

Tyler is survived by his big brother Justin, his mother Tricia, his grandparents, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless more extended family members and friends, a true testament to the enormous impact he made in his unfairly short time here with us. We are all enormously grateful to everyone who has reached out or sent condolences / support of any kind. We take comfort in the fact that you know what a tremendous loss this is, and that you loved him, too.

***One final request...if anyone has any photos or stories of Tyler that they wouldn't mind sharing with the family, please email to: loveTTSiegel AT gmail.com. Please know that anything you send may be used as part of memoriam services and activities related to Tyler, but will be treated with utmost respect, and not otherwise shared.

Thank you for reading...sending love from the entire Siegel / Roach / Beyelia Family.
