Hello! My name is Tyler and I am preparing to embark on a journey that will hopefully help me find a much-needed 3rd kidney transplant. I have been living with kidney disease since 2006, and over these almost past 20 years, I've gone through two failed transplants and now am currently on dialysis. It has become a difficult task in locating a kidney simply because of the antibody levels in my blood. I'm currently working with a team at Duke University to participate in a clinical trial in testing two medications that can help lower the antibodies in my blood, thus locating a kidney faster for me.
My current situation is that I live in New Jersey and I would have to travel to North Carolina over a 72-week span, which is the length of the trial. I may need to take a leave of absence from work, which would inhibit my income, but I'm willing to take this risk if it will bring me one step to being healthy. Any and all help is appreciated. All funds will help with travel, lodging, and maintaining my daily living. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.
