WHEW! WE HAVE A SEASON
After a Summer of uncertainty, the World Cup ski season has arrived!
The international governing body for skiing (FIS) has decided to move forward with a standard World Cup schedule with racing starting November 27th in Scandinavia and moving to Central Europe. We have been assured access into Europe with the help of the respective World Cup country's embassies. We have also been assured that necessary precautions have been put into place to make this season safe due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
I have been selected to race the first period of World Cups in Lillehammer, Davos, and Dresden. All things considered, my training this Summer has been fantastic and I have had very encouraging time trials. I am looking forward to putting all the hard work on the snow.
I am inviting you to support me and help fund this season.
WHY I NEED FUNDING
As an unfunded athlete, I am not only required to pay for my own room, board, and travel, but also for a ski serviceman (room, board, and travel). I am fortunate enough to have my good friend Jack Novak as our serviceman and to share his services with a few of my APU teammates. This will be Jack’s second year on the World Cup and his experience from last season will give us fast skis in December!
This year, we will also be required to pay for Covid-19 testing and all unforeseen costs due to traveling during a pandemic. For one period of racing (Thanksgiving to New Years) this will cost close to $15,000. The season in total will cost close to $30,000.
