Help Tyler Represent Canada on the S2 FIS Speed Skiing Tour

My name is Tyler Gigg, and this winter I am competing on the FIS Speed Skiing Tour in the S2 division, racing at gravity-fed speeds between 160 km/h and 200 km/h. I have earned a place on the Canadian Speed Skiing Team as an independent athlete, and I am working toward qualifying for something truly historic:

This season is critical. The results I put down in Vars France will determine my trajectory toward becoming one of the fastest humans on earth in my discipline.

But unlike many traditional sports, speed skiing athletes especially independents receive no formal funding. Every flight, hotel, equipment upgrade, and travel requirement is self-funded. That is why I am reaching out for support.

Why I’m Fighting for This Goal

This year has been one of the most challenging and transformative of my life. Navigating a complicated divorce, rebuilding stability for myself and my three daughters, and working full-time in the Canadian oil sands has taught me one truth:

You either stay down, or you stand back up and fight.

I am choosing to fight!

Speed skiing has given me purpose, direction, and a chance to show my girls what resilience truly looks like to aim high, push limits, and redefine what is possible, even when life feels overwhelming.

This winter, I will also be representing several action-sports industry brands, and I am honoured to serve as the global athlete ambassador for HeadsUpGuys, a men’s mental health initiative seen in 155 countries worldwide. I will be the only athlete in the world representing their mission, and I will be featured weekly on their platform to help promote mental wellness, strength, and hope for men everywhere.

This season is bigger than sport it’s about showing others what a comeback looks like.

Where Your Support Goes

I am seeking to raise 20,000 dollars to cover essential costs for the upcoming FIS Speed Skiing season, including:

• International flights to Europe

• Hotels and accommodation at race venues

• Ground transportation between European race sites

• Additional equipment costs (specialized gear, protective equipment, and racing essentials not covered by sponsors)

• Baggage and equipment transportation fees for skis and race gear

Every dollar helps get me closer to the start gate of the fastest tracks in the world.
