Sadly, our family has joined the ranks of those forced to #breakthesilence. We are lost, we are heartbroken. We never imagined it could happen to us, but it did. On September 8, 2018 our outwardly smiling, loving, Tyler "Bug" Fulton closed himself in the bedroom and ended his own life. Tyler was smart, intelligent and loved modeling, reading and gaming. But something must have been so troubling, so seemingly overwhelming that in a split second caused him to take his own life. Our family is struggling to understand the "silence" right now. What could we have missed? How long did he struggle with sadness and depression? We may never have the answers. But we now join the ranks of other families who have been hit by the rising rate of suicide among African American youth.
As we are met with grief, we are also met with the unplanned financial expenses of laying Tyler to rest.
This gofundme account has been created to assist his mother, Atiyyah Fulton, a single mother of five sons, to lay Tyler to rest. On a final note, I want to use this message to encourage organ donation. Although our beloved Tyler is no longer with us, his heart was a match for another child on the donor list. Through our pain, another child will live.
We love you Tyler
