Tyler Ewing Stage IV Glioblastoma
Donation protected
Our Tyler, 29, was rushed to the ER on September 26, after he fell while walking his dog. A CAT scan revealed a large mass in the right side of his brain. Follow-up MRIs and brain surgery to remove a tumor the size of an orange and another the size of a ping pong ball with tentacles, articulated a diagnosis of stage 4 glioblastoma. The masses were removed on September 29—7 days before his 30th birthday—and he immediately began chemotherapy: chemo wafers were inserted in his brain and he also began taking chemo in pill form.
Tyler is now rebuilding his strength for the next challenge. Our current plan of attack includes 6 weeks of radiation delivered directly to his brain, followed by 12 additional months of chemotherapy to inhibit regrowth of this devastating disease. Tyler has medical insurance but the co-pays will mount during his treatment. His chemo and radiation coverage is not certain to last the duration of his treatment, and the medical costs will become an additional burden.
There is a long, expensive, emotional, and painful journey ahead. To fight the battle, we ask for your prayers for Tyler’s healing and for the courage and strength needed to beat this beast, cancer. In addition, we are asking for your financial donations to help offset the current, upcoming, and unforeseen medical bills.
Thank you,
Nancy Hyde (mom), Michael Ewing (dad), Lindsay Ewing (sister), Liz (future wife), all of Tyler’s family and loved ones.
May you treasure every day with those you love
