Hello thank you for haveing time to look at my gofund me page.
My dad back in 2024 found a lump on his left side of his throte December 2024 after alot of test he was sadly diagnosed with lymph nodes cancer on his left hand side threw QA hospital Portsmouth.
With amazing team of nurses, doctors and consultants my dad was given the chance to have treatment which he took to enjoy as much life as he could have with his children and grandchildren.
Dad started a 6 week day to day round of Radiotherapy treatment only haveing the weekends to rest. Sadly this ment my dad suffered with some of the side effects including tired, sore throte, headache, sleepy, lost his taste, found it hard to swallow food this even ment his favourite food minted lamb KFC.
Dad was given fortsips milkshakes to help to maintain to keep his weight on for a while.
After the long 8 weeks while waiting to go back to QA for the results of treatment sadly dad then found a second lump this was now on his right hand side.
The visit to the consultants for the results were not the ending we were hoping for the consultant agreed that the cancer had spread to the right and also a lump was found under his chin. Dad was offered more treatment just to shrink the lumps as this sadly was never going to go away. Dad took another 1 week of Radiotherapy but again this made him more poorly.
Dad was offered home help from St Wilfrid's nurses they would come to his home daily to clean his neck and help to make dad comfortable as much as he could sadly dad got weaker and weaker over the weeks on March 15th dad was given a bed at St Wilfrid's Hospice Bosham.
Dad had amazing staff there day and night what did there best to keep dad comfortable with pain relief, comfortable bed, even a jacuzzi bath for 40min what wiped him out for the whole day what he loved within these 11 days of dad being hear he was able to spend time with his siblings children and grandchildren.
Sadly 31st March after a long battle of this horrible battle dad closed his eyes and took his last breath and at peace.
