Tyler and His New Family-Road to Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On April 7th, Ashley and Tyler Shank gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She was barely over 2 weeks old when her father Tyler, age 27, had seizures and was rushed to emergency.
Tyler’s initial MRI showed a large tumour in his brain; He was told he would be out of work for a minimum of 6 months, he would be going into surgery in 2 weeks, and to prepare to start radiation treatment 4 weeks after the surgery.
On May 12th, Tyler had his surgery in which they successfully removed 90% of the tumour. He is currently residing in the hospital, recovering from his surgery and his (hopefully temporary) partial paralysis. His expected recovery time is still unknown; however, Tyler will not be coming home (we believe) for a couple of months.
Having just had a baby, Ashley has been on maternity leave meaning she is only receiving a portion of her income, Tyler is now on disability leave. Together this has lowered their household income by roughly 30%

We live in Canada, and most of the medical bills will be covered by our healthcare. However, they now have the added expense of a newborn baby, physiotherapy, and rehab equipment, such as a wheelchair.
If you have been lucky enough to know Tyler, you would know he has a very loving soul and wears his heart on his sleeve. He is in high spirits, and even when Ashley was the only visitor allowed in the hospital (Covid-19 protocol), he told Ashley to take care of the baby first. On the day of his surgery, Tyler had pre-arranged flowers to be delivered to their home to reassure Ashley that everything would be okay.
We want to help offset some of the family’s day-to-day living expenses. This GoFundMe will take some financial pressure off Tyler and Ashley, so Tyler can recover from his surgery and his radiation treatments and not worry about money or having enough to provide for his newborn.
Please contribute if you can; no amount is too small or large!
We have also set up a custom T-shirt campaign through Bonfire, Please visit https://www.bonfire.com/tylers-recovery-fund/
