Hi everyone, During our current pandemic situation, I thought it would be a nice gesture to honor our fire department working tirelessly in Howard County.
Each day, Howard County Fire Rescue (HCFR) firefighters and paramedics come to work, not knowing what their next call will be. With the numbers of confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19 on the rise, our local heroes provide care to the citizens and employers in Howard County tirelessly. While they take all due precautions in order not to become patients themselves, there is not a moment during the day that the thought crosses their minds that they may become exposed to and infected with this virus.
In addition, our small businesses are hurting because of the pandemic. I saw another jurisdiction in Virginia had a similar idea to not only provide a meal for the firefighters but also drum up some local business to support the community.
You can help our Howard County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics and support local restaurants at the same time by donating to the TYFYS (Thank You For Your Service) HCFR Go fund Me page. There are 13 fire stations in Howard County and each station has three shifts. All donations received will be converted into DoorDash gift cards to be split among each shift at each station.
Please help make a difference while on your quarantine time and donate to support our local heroes. It doesn't matter if you give a few dollars or sponsor an entire station/shift. We just want to express our thanks for what they do for all of the citizens in the County and this is a small token of our appreciation.
