Tye Pipkin just turned 23 years old in March. A little over 3 years ago he was diagnosed with cancer. As you can imagine, this was devastating news for Tye and his family. Almost unbelievable as the Pipkins lost their older son to cancer just 2 years before Tye's diagnosis. Tye wittnessed his older brother battle this horrible disease for 6 years.
In the beginning, his Drs could not pin-point the exact type of cancer Tye had. It took almost 3 years (just a few months ago) to correctly diagnose a very rare form of Melanoma called Mesenchymal Neoplasm of Malignant Myoepithelioma. This type of cancer does not respond to chemotherapy or radiation.
Recently, Tye was given a prognosis of 6-12 months. Tye's Dr assured him that no one can tell any of us exactly how much time we have left, it's only their guess. I don't believe we have to accept this and just wait for the time to be up, do you? I know Tye doesn't. I am totally blown away by Tye's attitude to make the most of his time.
HE INSPIRES ME. I want to make the most of my time too Tye, I'm so grateful for the spark you've given me!
Right now Tye is recovering from his most recent surgery to remove a mass of tumors that are causing him pain. In the process, his surgeon also had to remove a fist size portion of his ribs. As soon as Tye is feeling better and recovered, he plans to start on his list.
I'm excited to follow Tye's Bucket List Adventures! We plan to do video updates so you can follow him too.
Thank you for helping Tye achieve his goals. The 1 Billion dollar goal may be a little out of our reach ;-) but your donation will give Tye's family the ability to help with travel funds, camping expenses, and anything related to crossing items off his bucket list. His list includes a trip to Glacier National Park, camping in Montana's mountains, rock hounding and camping in California. His biggest wish is to meet the President of the United States, and we are working on that one too! If you would like to contribute in any shape or form to anything on Tye's list, your kindness and generosity will be very much appreciated and valued. :-)
