Hi,
Our friend Mila needs our help! Everyone, please consider giving any amount they can to help ease her burden after the unexpected passing of her husband Tye on 3/27/23.
I have known Mila for almost 30 years and she has always been the one to step in to relieve the suffering of others. I am hoping we can return this generosity of spirit to her in her time of need.
There is no life insurance and with so many overwhelming costs involved in this sudden situation Mila now finds herself in, she is asking for any help that you can give. No donation is too small.
During this time she needs help with funeral expenses, household bills, help in getting Trenton settled in with his biological family, and finishing up some of the projects Tye was working on in the yard (i.e. the French drain he started on the driveway (it needs to be covered so no one breaks a leg in the hole); the front walk - digging to reroute drainage - safety issue for people walking; clean out the back yard of junk so we can comply with code enforcement - one of the neighbors reported our house to the county for the mess); trees that have been cut down and lying in the yard, etc...
Below is a note from Mila
At only age 47, our beloved Tye Smith III was suddenly taken from us without any warning on Monday, March 27, 2023. His wife Mila found him non-responsive on the floor at 6:00am Monday and called 911. When they arrived, paramedics said that Tye was already deceased, and rigor mortis had already started setting in.
The preliminary autopsy report indicates that there were no drugs in Tye’s system other than his prescription medications and there wasn’t even a detectable alcohol level. Tye’s death was from natural causes. Like a light switch, his heart simply stopped, and his body just turned itself off. Further testing is being done. They’re sending blood and tissue samples out to see if they can figure out why the body turned itself off, but for the most part, his body was just exhausted. They said that when his heart stopped, he probably went into a coma, so there was no pain and no suffering, and he went fairly fast.
Once Tye’s body is released from the medical examiner, funeral arrangements will begin, and we will post an update at that time.
Anyone who knew Tye would say that he literally worked himself to death. He had been working all day in the yard in the rain because as he would say “wet dirt is so much easier to move in the yard”.
He was a kind loving man and anyone who knew him would say the same. He would give you the literal shirt off his back and food off his plate. His greatest source of pride was his children Taylor, Tyler, and Trenton.
Thank you in advance from Tye’s grieving family.
