My name is Erin, I have created this campaign for my sister Christie, her wife Mechelle and their two daughters Grace (6) and Izzy (4). Christie has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic cancer.
It breaks our heart to face Christie's medical situation and I really wish we didn't have to do this, but we need your help. Here is our story and we humbly ask for any support possible.
On February 13th, at the age of 45, Christie was given the devastating diagnosis that she (an otherwise healthy woman) has STAGE 4 METASTATIC CANCER.
For months Christie had been battling back pain and a cough. With the pain not going away and just getting worse she finally decided to go to the ER. An MRI showed a large mass in her left lower lung (possible primary) and a large mass in her spine. Malignant metastatic tumors in her thyroid, ovary, adrenal gland, liver, hip, skeleton, and multiple sites on her spine were found with additional scans.
She will start radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy hopefully within the next week or two.
Those who know Christie know that she is simply put, an amazing and beautiful human being. She is absolutely family focused- her family is everything to her, eager to freely lend an open hand to anyone in need, stands up for what is right, is extremely driven, and has a “never give up” spirit. She is a fighter and a doer! It’s going to be a tough journey and a difficult road at times, but she’s not one to back down from any challenge that comes her way.

That’s what this GoFundMe campaign is all about!
The funds collected will go to Christie’s treatment so she can focus on healing and less on the extreme financial burden this is causing her family. Finding the best treatment is crucial to ensuring her road to remission is successful, but it does come with a very large cost.
Sadly, only a small portion of these life-saving treatments are covered by insurance. The fact is that chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy are not fully covered. She’s had to pay out of pocket to find an Oncologist that will give her the care she needs and will have to continue to pay out of pocket for ongoing medical expenses. There is no dollar amount that can be associated with the cost of what is paid, when it comes to the diagnosis of CANCER.
Christie and Mechelle have been so incredibly strong and are continuing to stay positive and full of hope.
Please continue to lend all your strength, love, and prayers to this family. Christie is facing a massive uphill battle against incredible odds... all their efforts need to be focused on BEATING THIS!
