In June 2015, Ellie came to our house as our first foster dog through Underdog Rescue. She was a happy, spunky little nugget, and in less than two weeks, she found a fantastic forever home with Sarah.
Sarah has been heroically dedicated to Ellie over the past four years. Ellie has severe separation anxiety, and can only be left alone for about an hour at a time. Sarah stuck by Ellie: taking Ellie to daycare every day, shaping her social life around dog-friendly activities, and taking Ellie on bike rides in her doggie trailer.
As former foster parents, we puppy sit Ellie semi-regularly, and built a strong bond with both Sarah and Ellie. They are both incredible, one-of-a-kind ladies.
In late-August 2019, Ellie developed sensitivity in her back that became progressively worse. One of her vertebrae had hardened and was impinging on her spinal cord, leaving her paralyzed. Luckily, the MRI showed this is her only diseased vertebrae. Her prognosis is very good with surgery at the UofM, but this is a specialized and very expensive surgery.
That’s where you come in.
Please help Ellie walk again. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for helping Sarah offset the cost so that she can concentrate on Ellie's recovery, and Ellie can get her spunk back.
Thank you!
