Sita's Medical Expenses

About a month or so ago my family recieved some life shattering news. Cancer. Who out there hasn't been affected in some way or another by it? It's as if our countless friends and family members who've already lost their lives way too soon to cancer wasn't enough. Now it is threatening to take the life of our mother and it is time to fight back with everything we have. So here we go Sita, this is for you.
For the past several months, Sita has had a cough that just wouldn't go away. Then she went to the doctor to get it checked out. After the initial test, they noticed a spot on her lungs. She went back for further testing and the devastating diagnosis was that she has Stage IV Lung Cancer. The tumor in the right portion of her lung is the size of a baseball and has metastasized and spread to her brain.
At this point, they have chosen to treat it holistically with a series of intensive IV infusions in conjunction with supplements and a strict diet and daily routine to strengthen her immune system. She has to have the infusion 5 times a week with two days off on the weekends. This involves driving three hours back and forth from their home in Sebastian, Fl to Miami multiple times a week which is not only exhausting but also costly. Basically in a matter of weeks the expenses are starting to pile up including an insurance deductible of $10,000.
Sita's full recovery is a team effort and I am grateful to all of the people that are donating their time and energy. My Dad is heading up that team and wants to fully focus on finding the most cutting edge protocols and this will involve lots of expert practioners, special supplements, best quality food, and more than likely, lots of travel expenses and time away from his business. This fund will greatly benefit keeping our family afloat in a difficult time.
I still remember the day Sita and my Dad Vajra got married which was about 22 years ago. They both wore white and had bluish-green flower garlands around their necks. It was a very simple ceremony in a room filled with loved ones. There I was 10 years old in the back trying to peer over everyone sitting in front of me so I could get a better view and I remember thinking - THIS IS IT! I had never seen my Dad so happy and I knew right then that Sita was the ONE.
Jump ahead two decades and to this day there are millions of beautiful little reasons why she is still the love of his life. And he hers. They really are a perfect match. For that reason I will forever be grateful to Sita. But even more so she is the most devoted and loving mother to my younger sister Jewel.
She is one of the funniest people I know. Seriously ask anyone who's ever met her and they can attest. She has been an integral member of our spiritual community for over 40 years. She has the biggest heart and doesn't hesitate to help out others in need. I could go on and on. Oh, and I can't forget that she has helped to create a beautiful family with my Dad, Jewel, my older sister, Mirashyam and me.
Anything at all, big or small, will be more than greatly appreciated. At the end of the day it is all about kindness and love.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
