In Memory Ty Thomas Skjonsberg - Aid For Valerie
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chyrese. I am creating this fundraiser in memory of Ty for the family that he has tragically left behind; his son Kyler and his beloved partner of 16 years Valerie. On August 7, 2022 he peacefully passed away in his sleep.
Ty had a number of health problems but never let it stop him from living his life to the absolute fullest. Everything he did, he did it over and above.
His most favorite thing in the world was his son, Kyler. He was his everything, his reason for breathing. His son shared his passion for the need for speed. The life of a drag racer ran through both of their veins. They bonded over the race track, the smell of the fuel and the desire to be behind the wheel. One of Ty's fondest memories of his life with his son was when they went on a school trip to Nordegg. Ty always volunteered at Kyler's school, doing whatever he could to enjoy time with him.
He was a master in the kitchen, always cooking up something for his family to enjoy. He made some pretty wicked grey goose pickles! Loved his pasta and always had a new idea for a delicious meal. He ended up purchasing 150 lbs of peas and had pea shelling parties!
He was a tough man but such a softy. Romantic and fearless all in one. He made his family priority one. Loved his holiday decorations - especially Halloween and Christmas. Always went above and beyond to put a smile on someone's face with them.
The passing of his mother took a large toll on him. He was the 'counselor' to his friend group. The one people could count on and open up to. He was the rock to his household and went out of his way to ensure everyone was alright. Well, his mother was his rock. The one he could lean on when the going got tough.
He touched a lot of people's hearts in the community. His partner Valerie had gone to visit a few of the shops in town that he frequented. No one could believe such tragedy could hit such a wonderful man. He always had a good joke and words of wisdom to share.
He was an animal lover, a racer, a father, a partner, a son, a friend.
He just was. Now, he is at rest.
To the ones that he has sadly left behind; as I type this, my heart hurts for each and everyone that was blessed to have this man in their life.
To his son; may you find some peace in your chaotic world of hurt. It will never stop hurting, but just know he is proud of who you are and who you are yet to become. Grow, learn and live.
To his beloved Valerie; this is something I would never wish on anyone. Take this time and grieve. Be vulnerable. Cry, scream, laugh, whatever you may need to do. But just know, you are not alone. You are loved.
I am creating this go fund me to help Valerie with some of the financial stresses of losing a loved one. The funeral costs and all of the monthly bills that he contributed to paying are now on the shoulder of one instead of two. There was some water damage on their house and right now her home is in shambles, not just from losing Ty, but from the ongoing construction that could take months to repair. While grieving for her lost spouse, she was also frauded through the bank. Her accounts were drained and she is in the middle of a financial investigation to get her money back from the people who stole from her.
She has gone through so much in the last few weeks; anything could help. Please share this with your family and friends.
