Ty Maltby

Hello, My name is Nora Jane! My husband Ty and I have 3 beautiful girls together! We reside in Merrill, Mi! July 2, 2022 Ty went in to Cardiac arrest at home! While the paramedics were here he proceeded to code 5 times where his defibrillator saved his life! He was rushed to Midland hospital! That night he wasn’t expected to make it! The drs called in the family! He coded 30 times and once again by the grace of god and the Holy Spirit Ty was still here with us the next day!!! He was rushed by ambulance down to UofM where he ended up coding 3 more times! Once again by the grace of God his drs saved him by having to manually shock him due to his Pacemaker not doing it’s job! They ended up Intubating him for 2 days! On the 3rd day he broke through the Sedation and pulled his tube out by himself! He was stable and on the right path so they decided to transfer him to the cardiovascular unit! Still waiting on his Lvad surgery! They removed his catheter….(which he was super excited about) while walking back from the bathroom he ended up coding 4 more times and was shipped back to ICU! While in ICU he started to get what is called ICU delirium and became very Anxious, angry and upset! He got himself so worked up he ended up going into Vfib and they had to shock him to get him out of the rhythm! Yesterday the 14th they ended up putting him back on the ventilator until Saturday when he has his LVAD placement! Unfortunately Ty has had heart problems since he was 15 years old! He is now 44 years old and is at the end stages of heart failure! He needs this LVAD to save his life!

My sweet husband has been though so much in 2 weeks! If any of you know Ty you know he’s the most kind hearted mellow person! That would help anyone out in need! He absolutely adores his children! They are his world! It breaks my heart to see him go though this! For the next 3 weeks I have to make multiple trips down to Ann Arbor to get training done before he can come home! That means staying in a hotel, food, gas it all adds up so fast! I appreciate you taking the time to read Ty’s story!
